FAA Asking Laser Manufacturers To Increase Warning Labels

Feb 10, 2023 | 11:37 AM

The Federal Aviation Administration is asking laser manufacturers to increase warning labels informing people not to point the devices at airplanes.  Laser pointers not only distract pilots but can also permanently damage someone’s eyes.  According to the FAA, there were more than 400 laser pointer incidents involving airplanes in Tennessee last year.  The FAA wants manufacturers and distributors to increase warnings so people will know there are federal laws prohibiting improper use.
