More details have been released in the deadly Valentine’s Day shooting in Sweetwater, Tennessee. According to an affidavit obtained by WVLT, one of the uninjured victims, told officers that four men came to her house. She recognized Lenning Huerta, Itzhui Huerta, Liu Huerta and they were with someone she did not know. The men then demanded to be let in or they would break in. The situation escalated, according to the affidavit, and the woman hit the men with a metal tent pole. That is when Lenning Huerta allegedly fired his pistol. People in the house reportedly returned fire. Lenning Huerta died shortly after the shooting. Four others were injured including a toddler. WVLT News spoke to an uncle of the little girl who said the 2-year-old is in a coma with severe brain damage. Liu Huerta, age 26, was apprehended Wednesday night and is being held at the Monroe County Justice Center on three counts of attempted first degree murder, attempted aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and the use of a firearm during a dangerous felony. Liu Huerta appeared in court on Friday where his bond was set at $2 million. He is scheduled to appear in court again later this month. WVLT reports that in an earlier update, officials with the Madisonville Police Department said they had another suspect in custody but did not identify them.
