The TSSAA Wrestling State Tournament had its moving day on Friday, win or go home. For many at CCHS & SMHS they saw their seasons and even some careers come to an end. CCHS’s Lady Jets Jade Tulley and Kaitlyn Carson both saw their seasons come to an end as they lost in the first round of the Consolations. SMHS saw four high school careers come to an end 2 Time Region Champion Cole Lester and Aubrey Thompson both ended their seasons and careers in the Boys Consolations. Reining Region Champion Paige Patton fell in the second round of the girls Consolations. Hannah Simoes, a transfer student from New York, ended her high school career in the State Tournament and she’ll now look to wrestle for Grand View University in Iowa.
For Saturday Stone Memorial’s Jaelyn Patton will be looking to take home a 5th or 6th place medal. This is the second time Patton has become a State Medalist. She’ll wrestle Senior Kayla Powers from Clarksville on Saturday in the 5th & 6th Place match. Jaelyn’s results and the list of state champions will be seen on the websites of the PEG Broadcasting.
