The Vols were looking to go into the Semi-Finals of the SEC Tournament on Friday as they had a rematch with the Missouri Tigers. After a back and fourth game the whole way the Volunteers dropped the Quarterfinals to the Tigers with a final score of 79-71.
Even thought Tennessee had five players score in double-digits it wasn’t enough. Santiago Vescovi lead the way for UT with 17 points. Tyreke Key had 16 points and Jahmai Mashack had 14 points. Rounding out the leading scorers for Tennessee Oliver Nkhamoua had 11 points and Julian Phillips scored 10 points. Mizzou was lead by the duo of D’Moi Hodge and Kobe Brown with Hodge scoring 26 points and Brown scoring 24 points. DeAndre Gholston was able to score 10 points for the Tigers.
Next up for the Vols is awaiting the seeding for the NCAA Tournament. the Selection show will be on Sunday where Tennessee will find out where they will be seeded and who their first round opponent will be. The Lady Vols will find out their seeding and first round opponent when the Women’s selection show will be Sunday night on ESPN.
