The Crossville/Cumberland County Emergency Mangement Agency reports and elevated risk of severe storms overnight Friday Mar. 24 into Saturday morning Mar. 25.
The NOAA National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Rick (2/5) for severe storm development Friday night into Saturday morning.
The primary threat is damaging winds, but occasional heavy downpours could lead to brief localized flash flooding, and hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Models show the latest timing to be between 2am and 6am Saturday morning in the Cumberland County area.
The Crossville/Cumberland County EMA says while the models don’t currently show very impressive storm development for us, all the ingredients are there and the potential for severe weather exists, and these models often change as we get closer to the event.
Have multiple systems to receive warnings, and ensure batteries are good in your NOAA weather radio. Stay #WeatherAware as we move into the weekend.
