Crossville Woman Accidentally Shoots Self In Hand

A Crossville woman was taken to CMC and then flown to UT Knoxville after she accidentally shot herself in the hand Wednesday night.  According to Crossville Police, the 46-year-old woman, who was in a vehicle when the incident occurred,  said she did not know that her husband’s 40 caliber Glock was in her purse.  When she went to pull it out, the gun went off and shot her in the left hand.  Police say there was an entry and exit wound on her hand at the index finger knuckle.  There was also a bullet hole in the driver’s side door and some damage to the steering wheel.  The gun was released to the woman’s daughter.
