A Cookeville man was charged after he reportedly hit a pedestrian Monday (515/23) in the parking lot of Lowe’s in Crossville. The pedistrian, 71-year-old man, told police that it was heavily raining when he stepped out of the Garden Center and he did not see the truck when he began walking across the roadway. The victim was struck by the truck’s front bumper. EMS arrived on the scene and the victim refused transport to the hospital. The driver of the truck, 38-year-old Luis Gomez Perez, was issued citations for not having a driver’s license and no insurance on the truck.
