Sparta Mayor Proud Of Officers For Saving Kayakers

Sparta Mayor Jerry Lowery is singing the praises of three Police Officers after they rescued two kayakers on the Calfkiller River.  The call went out around 7:30pm on May 13, 2023 that a couple of kayakers had gotten too close to the water treatment dam and were being pulled under.  Once on the scene, K9 officers Justin Cunningham and Austin Edwards tied their leashes together to create a rope and with the assistance of Sgt.
