As the nation celebrates Emergency Management Services week, people in Clay County and the city of Celina find themselves without ambulance and EMS service until further notice. According to WSMV, about 20 EMS employees walked out Monday in a resported disputed over Mayor Luke Collins allegedly replacing the county’s medical director. According to a Facebook post from Clay County Emergency Management, the State EMS office office is aware of the situation and other counties are currently working together to run emergency calls as they come in to the dispatcher center. Residents in Clay County should expect emergency medical 911 calls may have an extended response time.
