Grandmother Dies Saving 10-Year-Old Grandson After Car Ends Up In Sequatchie River

A woman drowned while saving her 10-year-old grandson after her car ended up in the Sequatchie River.  It happened on Monday near Ketner’s Mill in Marion County.  The boy told authorities that his grandmother pushed him out of the car as it was filling with water. The child was able to swim to safety, however, the woman’s body was later found down river.  No names were immediately released and authorities still don’t know why the car ran off the roadway.
