After four years without a hospital, Fentress County will welcome an emergency facility on July 11th. TheĀ University of Tennessee Medical Center will open a stand-alone emergency room in Jamestown that will include seven exam rooms, as well as an x-ray machine, a CT scanner, and a complete lab. In addition to the emergency room UT plans to open a primary care facility later this year. Since the closing of the Fentress County Hospital in 2019, residents had to be transported to Cumberland Medical Center or Cookeville Regional Hospital for emergency services.
