The first of two sales tax holidays begins July 28th

With the first day of school set to begin August 3^rd, it’s time to make preparations for a new school year. The annual back-to-school sales tax holiday will begin at 12:01 AM on Friday, July 28^th and run through 11:59 PM on Sunday, July 30^th. Items included in the holiday include clothing under $100 per item, school and art supplies as well as computers and tablets priced under $1500. Then on Tuesday, August 1^st, Tennessee residents will get a break at the grocery store. Running through October 31^st, food and food ingredients, excluding alcohol, candy and dietary supplements, will be exempt from sales tax.
