The Crossville Police Department has identified a suspect in Monday night’s and Tuesday’s early morning fires in the area of Old Jamestown Highway. According to reports, Dalton Rayburn admitted to starting the fires on Methodist Campground Loop and what is historically known as the Cumberland Mountain School. Rayburn stated he had taken some bad drugs and that the “Voo-Doo” told him to start the fires. The Pavilion was totally destroyed with loss estimated at $85,000. Damage to the Library was listed at $20,000 and damage to the Bath House and contents was estimated at $10,000. Mr. Rayburn was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center. Detective Tim Vandever obtained an arrest warrant for 3 counts of Arson.
