NWS Confirms Tornado In Roane County Thursday, August 3, 2023

After surveying the damage left from Thursday’s storms in Roane County, the National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in the area.  WVLT reports the EF-1 twister was on the ground in East Roane County for about half a mile with maximum wind speeds of 95 miles per hour.  No injuries were reported, however, the tornado damaged roofs, outbuildings and uprooted trees.
