A burglary suspect has been taken into custody in both Cumberland and Putnam counties. According to a Press Release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, August 10, 2023, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an Aggravated Burglary on Andy Lane in Monterey, TN. After processing the crime scene and collecting evidence, Detective Garry Harris determined that Eddie James Bright was the offender of the crime. Bright was located and arrested on Old Walton Road for Aggravated Burglary. Bright had a $150,000 bond but was able to make it and later released.
On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, contacted Detective Harris to advise that they had warrants as well on Bright for Aggravated Burglary in their county. On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies located Bright in Putnam County General Sessions Court and took him into custody without incident.
At the time of the Press Release Bright was incarcerated in the Cumberland County Jail with $140,000 bond.
