A welfare check in Putnam County has led to the arrest of a man with multiple outstanding arrest warrants and the recovery of stolen firearms. Last Thursday (8/36/23), Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Elmore Town Road in reference to a possible homeless man camping in the area. Deputies made contact with Donnie Eugene Lett. Deputies were informed that Lett had four outstanding active arrest warrants, 2 capiases for Failure to Appear, Theft of Property, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Further investigation revealed that Lett was in possession of two stolen firearms. Mr. Lett was additionally charged with 2 counts of Theft of Property and Criminal Impersonation. Lett has no bond for the Failure to appear charges but does have a bond of $14,000 for the other charges. His court date has been set for October 2, 2023.
