Montgomery County Jail Inmate Alerts Staff To Medical Concern, Gives Birth In Cell An Hour Later

In Clarksville, Tennessee a Montgomery County inmate gave birth inside a cell on Sunday (8/27/23).  According to the Sheriff’s Office, at 11:31am, an inmate housed in a medical pod notified a Deputy of a medical concern.  A Licensed Practical Nurse conducted an assessment and about 20 minutes later a Registered Nurse conducted a follow-up assessment. The inmate was left in her cell and shortly before 1pm a Deputy discovered she had given birth. Mother and baby were then taken to the hospital where the Sheriff’s Office says they are both in stable condition.
