Firearm Found In Suitcase at Goodwill in Crossville

Crossville Police responded to a call at the Goodwill thrift store Friday morning to take a report of a firearm found in a suitcase that had been donated.  A check of the serial number on the Sig Sauer P938 9mm handgun came back as not stolen. According to the report, as an employee was trying to show Police security video in an attempt to identify who may have donated the item, Goodwill staff informed police they were not allowed to watch the video cameras. Goodwill told police their own Loss Prevention would be in contact with them. At that point, Crossville Police cleared the scene and was not able to identify the person who accidentally donated the gun so it could be returned to them.  The firearm was placed into evidence at the Crossville Police Department.
