A Crossville man has been indicted for murder in connection to the death of a man in Rhea County last year. According to a press release from the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department, on May 12, 2022 deputies from the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a possible stabbing on Possum Trot Road in Grandview. Upon arrival, deputies found Thomas C. Simpson deceased. A joint investigation was performed by Rhea County Sheriff’s Department Detectives and TBI Agents.
On Monday, October 2, 2023 suspect Stanton Lee Reagan, of Crossville, TN was indicted by the Rhea County Grand Jury.
Reagan was taken into custody on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in Robertson County, TN and extradited to Rhea County. Stanton is facing the following charges:
– First Degree Murder
– Especially Aggravated Robbery
– First Degree Murder in Perpetration of a Crime
– Possession of Methamphetamine
Reagan is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
