VEC has announced a planned power outage for the Crossville Service Area on Saturday, October 14, 2023 beginning at 10 p.m. Central time. The outage is expected to last about 8 hours and is due to TDOT moving two transmission lines as part of the Highway127 project. Affected areas include those serviced by the Lantana Substation. Crossville Feeder 244 will have a partial outage.
In addition to the outages planned for the Lantana and Crossville substations this Saturday night (10/14/2-23), there are also two brief outages planned for the Crab Orchard substation. The first outage in Crab Orchard will be Saturday night, October 14, beginning at 10 p.m. and ending at 10:30 p.m. Central Time. The second outage in Crab Orchard will be Sunday morning, October 15, beginning at 5:30 a.m. and ending at 6:00 a.m. Central Time.
During the outage remember to keep freezers and refrigerators closed. Do not use a gas stove or gas oven to heat your home. Have alternate plans for refrigerating medicines or using power-dependent medical devices.
