Cumberland County’s September Unemployment Rate Increases to 4.3%

Cumberland County’s September unemployment rate rose to 4.3%, up 0.4 % from both August and the same time last year.

Statewide, 80 counties recorded a small increase in unemployment, while eight counties matched their rates from the previous month.  Unemployment in seven Tennessee counties decreased in September when compared to August statistics.

Warren County’s jobless rate rose 0.1 % from the previous month to 4.1% in September.

White County’s September unemployment rate was 3.5%, up 0.1% from  August.

Bledsoe County had the state’s highest unemployment for September at 5.4%.

Moore and Sevier counties tied for the state’s lowest unemployment rates for September at 2.6%.

Tennessee’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the month of September was 3.2%. That is up 0.1 of a percentage point when compared to the August rate of 3.1%, which was Tennessee’s all-time low.

The national seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged between August and September at 3.8%.
