A head on collision on Highway 27 in Scott County sent a deputy to a Knoxville trauma center. Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Hanson collided head on with a Whitley City Fire Department truck near Wolf Creek Road in the Robbins community in Scott County on Monday. Hanson was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment and was released on Thursday after undergoing surgery. Hanson’s patrol car was totaled. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is still investigating.
