As the holiday season approaches, area residents should be on the lookout for scams and hoaxes. The latest attempt by thieves involves texts, phone calls or emails claiming to be from the United State Postal Service with a message that they need additional information in order to deliver a package. It can be easy to be fooled, as many times the messages can look and sound very official. Residents should be wary of any message claiming a problem with delivery, even if a delivery is expected.
