A wildfire on Lookout Mountain that knocked a Chattanooga radio station off the air has rekindled over a week later. The radio tower of Chattanooga station J103 FM was located in Walker County, Georgia and was damaged by fire. The station was able to broadcast a few days later and is back on the air. On October 23, firefighters said the fire was fully contained. However, on Friday, November 3, the Walker County fire had rekindled, growing from 300 acres to 1,400 acres. According to Georgia Forestry, the fire was 50% contained as of Friday night. Leaves, drought conditions and the steep, rocky terrain have hampered their efforts. Officials said the fires in Dade County, Georgia and Walker County, Georgia were actively burning Saturday morning but within their containment lines. Forestry crews are monitoring.
