The Tennessee Lady Volunteers opened up their season Tuesday night in Knoxville as they hosted the Rattlers of Florida A&M. Tennessee comes into the 2023-24 campaign ranked 11th in the nation after a successful 2022-23 season. Tennessee was able to pick up a big win over Florida A&M defeating the Rattlers 93-64.
Tennessee had two of its players score 20 points on Tuesday. Tennessee’s newest player Jewel Spear scored 20 points along with 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Karoline Striplin who came off the bench scored 20 points and had 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Striplin’s 20 point game was a career high for the Junior. 5th year senior Rickea Jackson was able to score 13 points and Kaiya Wynn scored 12 points. Florida A&M’s leading scorers included Ahriahna Grizzle who had 16 points, Hailee Brennen picked up 13 points, and Ivet Subirats scored 12 points for the Rattlers.
