Update 11/13/2023 this morning the wildfire reportedly jumped the fire line. State Forestry is on the scene. It is now 140 acres in size.

Crews were called out to a large wildfire in Grandview late Thursday night. The state fire map has labeled it the Three Mile Fire. By 2am Friday, it was 40 acres and was in the area of Jonas Holloway Lane on top of Grandview Mountain. By 8:30am Friday, the Rhea County wildfire had grown to 70 acres in size, was 75 percent contained and was being fought by at least 10 firefighters. Even with the recent rainfall, conditions remain extremely dry in many areas. Check with your local fire department before doing any outdoor burning.
