Changes Coming to Chattanooga’s Riverfront, Artwork to be Removed Due to Safety Concerns

Chattanooga’s Riverfront will soon look different.   The Chattanooga City Council has voted to remove  the light pillars on the pier due to safety concerns.  The lights were erected almost 20 years ago as part of a $650,000 art project. Wind  recently damaged one of the pillars and faced with a $250,000 repair bill, it’s been decided to take them down.   The pillars pose no risk to tourists, and visitors who want to see them before they are gone are not in any immediate danger.
