Cumberland County advances to finals in grant for spec building

Nov 15, 2023 | 9:22 AM

Ethan Hadley, Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce director, told the Crossville City Council that a grant application from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development has made the final rounds. Hadley told council during Tuesday’s month meeting that the next step would be an in-person presentation to make the case for Crossville and Cumberland County. The grant, if approved, would provide funding for a spec building at the Interchange Park pad that was developed in 2017. The city and county would split a 5 percent match.

Hadley also told council that Flat Rock Motorsports would be opening their membership track in 2024 and expected the remaining circuit to be completed in 2025. He noted that Josef Newgarden, the 2023 Indy 500 winner, recently visited the site and was anxious to race there.
