#15 Tennessee Lady Vols Defeat Troy, 100-73

After a close call in Overtime against Memphis the 15th ranked Tennessee Lady Volunteers played host to the Troy Trojans from the Sun Belt Conference on Sunday. After a slow first quarter Tennessee left no doubt defeating the Trojans with a final score of 100-73.

The night belonged to two different Lady Vols who were able to record Double-Doubles. Karoline Striplin who came off the bench to complete a Double-Double and lead the scoring for Tennessee. Striplin scored 19 points and gathered 14 rebounds for the Lady Vols. Jillian Hollingshed had the other Double-Double for Tennessee after scoring 18 points and recording 10 rebounds. Tennessee had three other players scoring in the double digit mark. Destine Wells scored 18 points, Sara Puckett scored 14 points and Kayia Wynn scored 10 points. Troy who falls to 0-3 after Sunday was led in scoring by Nia Daniel who scored 19 points.

Next up for both the Men’s & Women’s teams for Tennessee are tournaments. For the Men’s team the #7 Tennessee Volunteers are heading to Maui for the Allstate Maui Invitational starting in first round action against Syracuse at 1:30 PM. For the Women’s team the #15 Lady Vols head to the Fort Myers Tip Off their first game will be on Thanksgiving day as they play the #18 Indiana Hoosiers at 5:00 PM.
