Unemployment rates increased in 73 of Tennessee’s 95 counties for October.   Rates went down in six counties and remained steady in sixteen.  Unlike the statewide unemployment rate, county unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted to account for different seasonal events that can impact employment.  The statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in October was 3.3%.

Cumberland County’s October jobless rate was 4.4 percent, which is 0.1 percent higher than September’s rate of 4.3 percent and up 0.3 percent from the October 2022 rate of 4.1%.

Warren County’s October unemployment rate jumped to 7.5 percent, up 3.5 percent from September’s rate of 4 percent.  It’s also a significant hike from the October 2022 unemployment rate of 4 percent.

White County’s October jobless rate was 4.2 percent, up 0.7 percent from September’s rate of 3.5 percent and 0.6 percent higher for the year.
