Crossville Woman Falls Victim to Email Scam

A Crossville woman has fallen victim to an email scam. She told police she received an email that said PayPal owed her money. She ended up speaking with someone via phone and told them she did not have a PayPal account and was not owed any money. However, they insisted she was owed money and texted her a link with instructions to open it.  Once she clicked the link, she was advised she had no control over her phone and they had accessed her CashApp and Chime account.  She lost $360.  Remember, don’t open emails or click on anything from sources you do not know.
