The Colonels of Eastern Kentucky made the trip to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Lady Volunteers. The Lady Vols were looking to snap a 3 game losing streak that includes losses to #18 Notre Dame, #16 Ohio State and an upset at the hand of Middle Tennessee State. The Lady Vols were able to snap that losing streak after defeating EKU with a final score of 72-63.
Karoline Striplin is continuing to have a successful Junior year as she led the Lady Vols in scoring with 17 points. Jewel Spear was second in the scoring category with 12 points while: Sara Puckett, Tess Darby, and Jasmine Powell had 9 points apiece. Antwainette Walker had a big day for the Colonels scoring 24 points. Alice Recanati picked up 12 points and Jasmine McGinnis-Taylor scored 10 points for Eastern Kentucky.
Lady Vols get back in the win column and improve to 5-5 on the season. Next for Tennessee is another home game against Wofford on December 19th at 5:30 PM.
