A Rhea County man was arrested Friday (1/19/24) in the shooting death of a 7-year-old boy. Christion Hamilton Jones has been charged with Criminal Homicide. The shooting happened Sunday, January 14 inside a house just north of the Dayton City Limits. The little boy, who is reportedly the brother of the suspect, was rushed to Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga where he died the next day. According to an arrest report obtained by WTVC, Jones said he was struggling with the boy over the gun when it accidentally discharged.
