Rising prices at the pump picked up steam last week, rising 11 cents, on average. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.97 which is 26 cents more expensive than one month ago but 14 cents less than one year ago.
Megan Cooper, spokeswoman for AAA said, “If pump prices rise above $3.00 per gallon this week, it will be the first time the Tennessee state average has reached this benchmark since early November 2023.”
After months of barely budging more than a few cents, the national average for pump prices moved into the fast lane, surging eight cents since last week to $3.27.
