Crash Involving Crossville Police Cruiser Injures Two

Two people were injured after a vehicle collided with a Crossville Police cruiser Saturday at the intersection of West Avenue and the Miller Bypass. It happened shortly after noon.

According to reports, Officer Jacob Zimmerman was going through the intersection with emergency lights and siren when a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 59-year-old Paul Gregory Wood, collided with the patrol vehicle.  Mr. Wood had the green light and reportedly did not see the police car.

The impact knocked the cruiser into a Dodge Ram driven by Dustin Alan Henry.

Mr. Wood and Mr. Henry and Henry’s 27-year-old male passenger reportedly were not injured.

Officer Zimmerman and his ride-along passenger, 59-year-old Donald Charles Busching, were both hurt in the crash. Mr. Busching was airlifted due to his injuries.
