Mom Arrested After Allegedly Swinging Whip at Her Kids at Nashville Waffle House

A mother was arrested Sunday (3/3/24) after she allegedly pushed her kids and swung a whip at them while at a South Nashville Waffle House.  Metro Nashville Police were called to the restaurant around 4am where they encountered 41-year-old Chrystal Fennell who was with her 5-year-old and 6-year-old children.  A whip was reportedly found in Fennell’s possession.  Police say Fennell was acting erractically, not making sense and talking to people who were not there.  Fennell complained of chest pains and was taken to the hospital.  At some point, she allegedly spit in the arresting officer’s face.  Fennell was charged with 2 counts of Attempted Child Abuse, Assaulting an Officer and DUI With Children in the Vehicle.
