Man Loses Truck to Fire on Mountain Vernal Road

A Mount Vernal Road man is now without his 2003 Chevy S-10 after it went up in flames Thursday night (3/7/2024).  The Cumberland County Fire Department was call out to the residence around 5pm. A Cumberland County Deputy also responded and reports that the vehicle was completely burned. The victim said he was working in his back yard when he smelled something strange.  While investigating the source of the odor, he saw smoke coming from his truck which was parked at the side of the house.  That’s when he called 911.  The victim said the truck had been having some issues over the last year.  There were no reports of injuries or other property damage.
