TBI special agents and investigators with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Office of the 13th Judicial District Attorney General are investigating a shooting that occurred around 4:45pm Monday (March 11, 2024) in eastern Cumberland County. When deputies arrived at a residence in the 2000 block of Smith Mountain Road in response to a shooting call, they found a woman suffering from injuries. She was airlifted to a Knoxville hospital for treatment. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.
Officials have not released the woman’s name or condition as of the time of this press release.
