The Tennessee Senate has passed a bill that would allow teachers and school staff to carry concealed guns in schools. Senate Bill 1325 “As introduced, authorizes a faculty or staff member of a school to carry a concealed handgun on school grounds subject to certain conditions, including obtaining an enhanced handgun carry permit and completing annual training.”
The bill does not require teachers to carry guns while working. As the bill stands now, parents would also not be notified that their kid’s teacher is carrying a concealed gun.
The bill now heads to the state House.
