Drag racing is now a felony on Tennessee roads. On Tuesday, Governor Bill Lee signed into law House Bill 2814 which, “as introduced, raises the penalty for the offense of drag racing from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class E felony.” The penalty for drag racing is up to six years in prison and a $3,000.
Reckless driving is still a misdemeanor in Tennessee.
