Police Say Active Shooter Killed Himself in Chattanooga Monday Afternoon

An active shooter in Chattanooga died Monday afternoon (6/24/2024) from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police say.  Shortly after 2pm the Chattanooga Police Department and other law enforcement agencies were called to an active shooter at an office building in the 2000 block of Hamilton Place Boulevard, not far from the mall.  Police say the shooter was attempting to execute a plan and failed.  He shot himself and is deceased.  No one else was injured and police say there is no threat to the public.  Police did not immediately identify the shooter or state his motive.
