TDEC Announces $5.5 Million Loan for City of Cookeville Water Improvements

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has announced a $5.5 million loan for the City of Cookeville to improve water infrastructure. The loan has a 20-year term at 1.85 percent interest and comes from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Loan Program. It will address Cookeville’s water treatment plant expansion to allow for treatment capacity of 22.5 million gallons per day.  The loan is one of two approved by the Tennessee Local Development Authority, with loans for the City of Rocky Top and the City of Cookeville totaling $6.8 million.
