With the 2024 Olympic Games set to start at the end of the month the swimming competitions will be well represented with Big Orange swimmers.
Tennessee has been known to have one of the better swimming programs in the South Eastern Conference with the Men’s team finishing in the top 3 of the SEC 7 times while the Women’s teams has garnered 2 SEC Championships in 2019 and 2021, while also finishing 2nd in 2022 and 2023.
Now 14 of the Vols and Lady Vols Swimmers will represent their respective countries for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Erika Connolly will represent the United States competing the 4×100 Free Relay, Gui Caribe and Kayky Mota will swim for Brazil, Jordan Crooks will represent the Cayman Islands, Brooklyn Douthwright, Ella Jansen, and Regan Rathwell will compete for the nation of Canada, Lyubomir Epitropov will swim for Bulgaria, Martin Espernberger represents his country of Austria, Lady Vols Mona McSharry and Ellen Washle will swim for the nation of Ireland, Julia Mrozinski swims for Germany in the Olympics, Lamar Taylor represents the Bahamas, Kira Toussaint will swim for the Netherlands, and Joaquin Vargas will compete for Peru.
Swimming officially begins on Saturday, July 27th at 4 a.m. Good Luck to the Vols & Lady Vols in the Olympics!
