Woman Recovering From Bear Scratch at Gatlinburg Hotel

The TWRA says a woman is recovering after she was scratched by a bear at the Super 8 Hotel on Historic Nature Trail in Gatlinburg.  She reportedly left her room around 12:30am Sunday and was scratched on the leg by a bear with cubs that was eating from an unsecured trashcan.  The bear also broke into a car that had food and trash inside.  A little over a week ago at the same hotel a man leaving his room was scratched on the arm by a bear that was also eating from a trashcan.  TWRA issued a warning citation to the hotel with information on regulations to prevent bears from getting into garbage.
