Tennessee Softball Adds Two Players from Transfer Portal

According to Tennessee Athletics, On Tuesday, Tennessee softball head coach Karen Weekly announced the signing of former South Carolina Gamecock pitcher Sage Mardjetko. A rising sophomore, Mardjetko went 8-9 with a 2.85 ERA for South Carolina in 2024. The right-hander made 34 appearances with 17 starts as a rookie, tossing 118 innings. A Lemont, Illinois, native, she recorded 119 strikeouts last season. Mardjtko also notched three saves and threw three complete games as she helped guide South Carolina to the NCAA Tournament.

Then on Thursday, Tennessee softball announced the signing of former Texas Longhorn Ryan Brown. A rising sophomore, Brown appeared in 11 games last season with 11 at-bats. She tallied a pair of hits with one run scored, a home run and two RBIs. The righty also drew two walks. A native of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee, Brown played for Independence High School. She was rated No. 21 in the Perfect Game Top 50 Class of 2023 recruit rankings and No. 51 overall according to Extra Inning Softball’s Extra Elite 100.
