A resolution will appear on next week’s Crossville City Council agenda to regulate charter bus operations in the city. If approved, the resolution would prohibit the loading or unloading of passengers at locations that are not established places of business. Bus companies would be required to obtain a permit from the city in order to pick up or drop off passengers. The resolution comes after the closure of the Marathon gas station next to the Waffle House on Highway 127 North that was a stop for Greyhound. While the station has been closed for some time, the bus line is still using it as a stop, and many prisoners from the Morgan and Bledsoe County correction facilities end up there when they are released. Council will vote on the resolution Tuesday, August 13 during their August session.
