Bond has been set for the East Tennessee father charged in the hot car death of his infant daughter.
Timothy Paul Blackdeer was stopped Monday (August 12, 2024) for speeding and driving erratically in a school zone in Collegedale. He told police he was trying to get medical help for his baby girl who was limp and unresponsive.
Blackdeer told police he drove three children to the babysitter early that morning. He dropped the kids and their things off, spoke briefly with the babysitter, called his wife and then drove to a construction site where he works. Around 3pm his wife called asking where the baby was. It was then Blackdeer said he ran to his vehicle and found the infant still inside the SUV.
Blackdeer has been charged with reckless homicide and aggravated child abuse or neglect. His bond was set at $21,000 and he is due in court on October 23, 2024.
