The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department was called to take a report of a vandalism in the Valley Lane neighborhood. Deputy Jacob Moore reports that a resident had been approached by an unknown male with an offer to reseal her driveway, but she declined as she had recently had it sealed. The man then proceeded anyway and in the process sprayed sealant on the victim’s car, house, sidewalk and lawn. According to Deputy Moore’s report, the subject then demanded payment of $1300 but eventually lowered the charge to $860. The suspect left without payment when the victim began calling her children. Damages were estimated at $250. The report also states that a second Valley Lane resident encountered the man but allowed him to perform the work and paid him $850.
