37 Vols Set to Open 2024 NFL Season

The NFL season starts this weekend and 37 Tennessee Volunteers will be taking part in the 2024/25 season. Among the 37 players, 26 are on an active roster while 9 are on practice squads and two are on the injury reserve list.

Notable Vols in the league include: Derek Barnett with the Houston Texans, Josh Dobbs with the San Francisco 49ers, Juan Jennings with the San Francisco 49ers, Trey Smith with the Kansas City Chiefs, Cordelle Patterson with the Pittsburg Steelers, Alvin Kamara with the New Orleans Saints, and Shy Tuttle with the Carolina Panthers.

Also According to Tennessee Athletics, Nine Vols from the Heupel era will represent nine different NFL teams, including quarterbacks Hendon Hooker with the Detriot Lions and Joe Milton III with the New England Patriots. Other Heupeel Era Pro League Players include: Jaylin Hyatt who will be playing this year for the New York Giants, Dee Williams is in Seattle to start his career with the Seahawks. Running Backs Jaylen Wright will be playing for the Miami Dolphins while Jabari Small was demoted to the practice squad for the Tennessee Titans.
