String of Burglaries & Thefts in Cumberland County

According to reports from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the Crossville Police Department, their have been a string of burglary and thefts reported on the plateau.

According to the CCSO, On September 1st, A Unit responded to Taylors Chapel Rd in reference to a theft report. Upon arrival he met with the victim who claimed that someone had broken into his shooting house, and stole an impact drill, buddy heater, and a claw hammer. The owner is not able to identify who stole the items, so therefore no suspect has been identified or arrested.

On September 4th, Deputies from the CCSO was dispatched to Truman Sherill Road. Upon arrival, they met with the victim who stated that within the past 2 days her truck has been stolen from her driveway. The victim stated that she has the only keys to vehicle, which are in her possession. They also stated the vehicle was parked on the left side of her residence in the gravels. During a closer inspection, the gravels did not appear to have been disturbed due to dragging. The Deputy was able confirm that the vehicle was not towed. The victim does not have any suspects in mind at this time.

Also on September 4th, A Patrolman with the Crossville Police Department met with a victim in the lobby of the CPD and reported that her shed was broken into. The victim stated that she found her lock busted off her shed with the door left wide open. The victim said that she has not found anything to be missing and that there are no suspects at this time.
